Although I have primarily driven down the trail this year, in the
past I have hiked it. Once, while on such a hike I was drawn to
each of the following trees. Each for it's own distinct character.
Each one communicating a different experience to me that I wanted
somehow to portray in the painting. It took me nine years to finally
realize those impressions into completed expressions, the three
paintings you see here.

The first painting is titled "Seek and You
Shall Find", this tree seemed to me to question, to ask,
to reach toward something to the point that is no longer felt
connected to the ground.

| The second "Be Still and Know", was a perfect
meditation, almost a Buddha like tree perched above the flooded
trail, grounded by its shadow yet aspiring to the heavens. |

The third tree, titled "The Way" just had
an amazing presence to me, my own burning bush, the all knowing
presence, it spoke to me as if to say, "I am here". |
